During aerobics classes such as spinning, the instructor will probably have you take your pulse when resting and while fully exerting yourself. Comparing your resting heart rate and your maximum heart rate, you can calculate your target heart rate. Your target heart rate is the ideal rate you will want to maintain while engaged in aerobic activity.
